"A somewhat different Pac Man variant, which shows that after 38 years it's still possible to find new variants of an old idea that has already been seen by practically everybody."
-- Thomas Diehl (https://thomasdiehl.eu/?p=5971)

Garden Warden is a game in which you plant flowers in a a labyrinthic garden, while attempting to circumnavigate sprout-hungry deers.

For an optimal experience, you may want to play Garden Warden in a relatively modern/updated web browser. The game requires a keyboard and a mouse or mousepad, so mobile platforms are not supported.

It is possible to resize the game window by using the web browser's zoom in/out functionality, but only sizes 100%, 200%, 300% and so on, are supported, nothing inbetween. It is possible to do this resizing also in fullscreen mode (button in lower right corner).

Garden Warden was created for the October 2018 opengameart.org Game Jam. The following open game art resources from opengameart.org were used in the game:

pacman!

Well, yes, it's very inspired by pac man indeed, although I have reversed some of the mechanics… and the deers/ghosts don't kill you, so I would actually prefer to see it as a unique game of its own. ;) Hope you enjoyed it!

I did my part for global warming today.  Where's my shot gun so I can stop these dang deer from eating my flowers?

The lack of shotgun is intentional ;) But perhaps I should rethink the whole concept...
